Chennai for You

Chennai got its name from Chenaipattanam (meaning Chennai Town). It was initially known as Madras for very long years. Chennai is the capital of Tamil Nadu, a South Indian state in India. A conservative city, Chennai ranks 5th for the most populous cities in India. The British established the city in the 17th Century, and it eventually became a naval base and developed itself into an urban centre.

Chennai culture is unique, at the same time, rich in values and traditions. Chennai is the hub of classical music, dance, and also theatre.
